GENETICS

Ingledew expended considerable sums in the late 1980's acquiring the best imported genetics of the breed available to acquire a wide spread pool of French, Canadian and American lines on which to base the stud.

In one purchase, the stud outlaid $112,500 for just five 15 month old heifers, and other similar acquisitions were made to ensure that the base genetics were the best available as a foundation for where the herd has developed to today.

The stud is constantly looking for suitable new genetics to add to its lines, always bearing in mind what the efficiency driven commercial producer is seeking in this Return on Investment based meat production business.
